Our staff networks

Our staff networks help support diversity and inclusion across our community.

The Women in the New Zealand Intelligence Community network aims to enable women to achieve their full potential through empowerment and cultural change. While it focuses on gender diversity, its members foster discussion and action to increase all types of diversity. Long established, the network recognises the vital role that men play in helping women meet their objectives, and is open to any gender.

Women in Tech provides a support network, promotes career development, and advocates for women working in technology throughout the intelligence community. The aim is to increase the number of women:

  • in STEM-related jobs (science, technology, engineering, and maths) in the GCSB and NZSIS
  • in leadership roles in STEM and technology areas.

Women in Tech aims to make sure that women working in technology have good role models, stay with us long-term, and don’t feel isolated.

Tagata Pasifika in Intelligence Network, our support network for Pasifika staff within the community, was established in 2021. Members represent and advocate for our Pasifika staff and help raise awareness and understanding of Pacific cultures across our intelligence community.

Standing Out @ NZIC gives a voice to our LGBTQI+ staff. Members include people identifying with the rainbow community, allies, and friends.

Standing Out supports us to ensure our workplace embraces diversity, and that everyone feels welcome regardless of sexuality, orientation or gender identity.

Our Health and Wellbeing network focuses on all aspects of health and wellbeing. Network members contribute to our wellbeing programme and help deliver it.

The Military Support Network is a sup-group of our Health and Wellbeing network who support ex-military personnel who are leaving military life.

Our Neurodiversity Support Group (NSG) provides the neurodiverse members of our community with a sense of belonging and a supportive environment.

PAN-NZIC stands for the Pan-Asian Network of the NZIC, a network focussed on empowering Asian members of our community by driving cross-cultural awareness.
